San Jose de la Montaña is located on the slopes of the famous Barva Volcano in the Heredia province, a few kilometers from the town of Barva. It is also close to the amazing Braulio Carrillo National Park.

Set amidst a tall evergreen forest, this village is reminiscent of a Swiss mountain town, with its beautiful 18th century wood homes and dramatic landscape.
